Sorry for posting this old question. I did some research before posting. And I will be really specific about my questions.
Thrustmaster T300 RS GT Edition - 350€ with no promotion at this time, but one will come for 320€ Thrustmaster T300 RS - 310€ with no promotion at this time (same as GT but with 2 pedals instead of 3) I like logitech products, but the thrustmaster seems to be a very good product, maybe even better than logitech one.
I am shopping for my first wheel. I am choosing between the G29 and the T300RS. I am going to use it for rFactor2.
From what I heard,
the G29:
- comes with decent pedals
- is quieter than the T300RS
- comes with leather rim
- 900-degree rotation
- uses gear drive, turning and force feed back is quite notchy
the T300RS:
- comes with crappy pedals
- heats up easily, and the fan is loud
- comes with rubber rim
- 1080-degree rotation
- uses belt drive, turning is smoother, and force feed back is more realistic
The G29 cost 260, or 300 with a shift. The T300RS cost about 360. The GT version (comes with T3PA pedals) costs about 390. The Thrustmaster shift is 150, but I prefer paddle shift anyway.
I don't really care about shift, rims, 1080-degree, heat, or noise, so it really come down to the gear/belt drive and the pedals.
So I want to know:
- How 'notchy' is the G29? How much better is the T300RS?
- How bad are the T300RS pedals? How does it compare to the T3PA (included in the GT version), the G29 pedals, and the T3PA Pro? Since they are all just potentiometer pedals, what's the difference?
- If the T300RS is better, does it justify the (100 dollars, or 130 if I want the GT version) price gap?
Which one should I get?
(Please be nice to each other in the comment section. )
